Unidentified gunmen on Sunday raided Burukutu and Suwa villages in Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa.
Spokesperson of Adamawa Police Command, Mr Nemuel Yoila, confirmed
the attack, but said that he was yet to have details of the casualty
figure.
He said the affected areas had been secured, but could also not confirm whether any arrest had been made.
Reports from the affected villages, however, indicated that several
people lost their lives and many houses destroyed, with residents
fleeing the area.
The attack is coming barely two days after a committee set up by the
state government to investigate the January sectarian violence in
Lamurde and three other local government areas submitted its report.
The other three local government areas are Numan, Girei and Guyuk. (NAN)
