Since the news broke more than two weeks ago that the once enigmatic music business empire shared between Don Jazzy and D’ banj was falling apart, the rest of the Mo’ hits clan had kept mum over the matter, quietly lurking in the background and keeping as far away from the controversy as they could possibly get. However, one of them, Dr Sid, may have finally spoken up.
He came on the social networking site twitter and tweeted “Don Jazzy is the most important piece of Mo hits, who doesn’t get the credit he deserves, without his creativity a lot of things will not exist.”
Industry watchers insist this is a proclamation of where Dr Sid’s true loyalty lies. But then, many that have seen the tweet aren’t really surprised.
Close eyes and ears inside the Mo’hits once formidable pack had repeatedly told entertainment journalists in the past that the pair of D’Banj and Dr Sid were never really the best of pals.
The reasons for their fracas remain hazy but there are speculations it may not be far from the fact that D’Banj remained the one anointed son of the Mo’hits family, unshakable by any of the new acts.
The Over the Moon crooner however understands the precariousness of this situation as it concerns their respective careers as he’d further tweeted “that being said I will not be commenting on the issue of the mohits situation for now pls respect that its a very sensitive time for us all.”
Dr Sidney Onoriode Esiri is a Dentist and songwriter. Last year, his hit single Over the moon fetched him the 2011 Hiphop World Awards and Hiphop World Revelation of the year.
