The SUN
newspapers owned by ex Abia governor Orji Uzor Kalu who is facing trial by EFCC
is in crisis, as staff of the company are complaining seriously over the nonpayment
of five month salary. It was gathered that the paper is gradually going down
following the extravagant life of Kalu, who is using the company’s meagre
resources to finance his 2015 deceitful ambition.
An editor
who works with the paper and who does not want his name mentioned said Kalu is
owing them, yet he pretends as if all is well. The editor who usually writes
the leadership column for Kalu said that the worst is that the mother, Eunice
is now interfering in the running of the paper. He revealed that it was Orji’s
mum that forced out Dimgba Igwe and Mike Awoyinfa out of the SUN newspapers as
they refused to swear an oath.
He went
further to reveal that key officers of SUN were taken to a shrine in the south
east to swear an oath.
Those who
refused it was learnt were either shown the way out or not promoted. According to
this editor most people in the paper are tired, but since there is no job, they
are just marking time.
