…stigmatized by her children
… OUK feared infected
No one to blame! That was why most people led lives they hated, with people they hated. How wonderful to have someone to blame! How wonderful to live with one's nemesis! You may be miserable, but you feel forever in the right. You may be fragmented, but you feel absolved of all the blame for it. Take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame.”
“Nemesis is long delayed sometimes, but it comes in the end.”
Agatha Christie was obviously referring to Chief Mrs. Eunice Uzor Kalu (Odiukonamba), the mother of the embattled former Governor of Abia State; Chief Orji Uzor Kalu (OUK). While the party lasted, while the criminal looting of Abia’s common wealth lasted, while the rape on the people’s will lasted, Odiuko wanted to sleep with every budding youngman who crossed her path. She was famous for “sex for contract” which meant that every prospective male contractor would have access to her honey pot before he was considered for juicy contracts. Apart from breaking many families as a result, Odiuko is now living with the sad nemesis of Humane Immuno Virus (HIV) which has likely hit the full blown Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). No thanks to her past reckless life. Her condition is so bad that friends have deserted her while the many women whose husbands she sent to their early graves are celebrating her misfortune.
Odiuko was living life so reckless that it appeared nothing mattered. So terrible that in that quest for cheap pleasure and power, her son; the former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu was equally sleeping with her. There is increased fear in the Uzor Kalu family now that the former Governor may have been infected by the Virus.
Mother Excellency Odiuko has had to be taken to different hospitals within the country in search of cure which has remained elusive. At the moment, she is confined to her Abuja residence where her children have left her to suffer her fate alone.
It is not certain what moves they want to make next. But, the Uzor Kalus are obviously constrained by funds as most of their businesses have gone bad coupled with severed link with government. Odiuko may find it difficult to get the much needed reprieve.

What a story.
